Foxtown Station to Host Celebrate Trails Day Groundbreaking Event April 25

The Mequon-Thiensville Trails Foundation is hosting its annual Celebrate Trails Day on Saturday, April 25, from 8:00 a.m. to noon at Foxyard at Foxtown Station, located at 6209 W. Mequon Road in Mequon.

This year’s event marks the official groundbreaking of the Highland Road Bike Spur, a new 1.5-mile off-road paved trail that will connect the Ozaukee Interurban Trail to Rotary Park. The addition will expand safe and accessible walking and biking routes throughout the Mequon-Thiensville community.

The morning celebration will feature live music, local food and beverages, and a variety of bike, pet, and trail-supporting vendors. Attendees can enjoy e-bike demonstrations, meet K9 units from the Mequon Police Department, and participate in family-friendly activities designed to kick off the trails season.

Celebrate Trails Day is hosted in partnership with Foxtown Hospitality Group and Fromm Family Pet Food, with additional support from Rails to Trails Conservancy, Scenic Shore Bike Tour/Blood Cancer United, Trailside Recreation, and Wisconsin Bike Fed.

The event is free and open to riders, walkers, and community members of all ages. Organizations interested in hosting a vendor table can contact lori@mttrails.org for more information.
